The Used - 3 nights of Nostalgia in Chicago

The Used was in Chicago for their 25 year celebration of the band. Night one was dedicated to the album Self titled. Night 2 was my personal favorite, In Love and Death. Night 3 was dedicated to Lies for the Liars.

The Used is a Hardcore band from Orem, Utah that came into the scene in the early 2000s. The 2000s, were such a fundimental time for a lot of bands but more importantly The Used.

Chicago lined up very early for each of the sold out shows. Night 1 the line outside the venue reached the Bridge next door. Night one, "self titled" was played front to back. When i say it was crowded, a single person could not fit in the big Main floor section of the house of blues. A night to remeber with everyones voice being heard and felt.* "self tiled"* was defiently a crowd favorite.

Night 2 was dedicated to In Love and Death, My personal favorite and just as full as the first night. Coming into the venue i could tell the crowd was just as eager for this show. I had a little conversation with one of the security guards and they said they expected an even bigger turn out than the night before. That made me even more excited because hearing the crowd sing along in one of my favorite parts of shows. When awaiting for The Used to come on a few concert goers came up to me and stared to ask if i was excited for the show and if i had any favorites, i said yes!.

The Used, was supported by Origami Button. Who had such a great sound, they gave me vibes of a mix of Dance Gavin Dance and Asking Alexandria. Their front man gave such a good performance getting the crowd involved and hyping up the House of Blues. From people just grooving to the music to having the whole place jumping along. Origami Button was definitely well received in Chicago.

The used was Next and when i Say the crowd was excited; You can hear the excitement. I loved what the band did with each night changing the backdrop to the relative album getting played that night. For night one they had the album title as the backdrop. For night two, the band had the heart as a light fixture that was synced with the music.

Overall, This was such an incredible thing to do to celebrate 25 years, Not many bands actually make it to 25 so its definitely a well deserved celebration. Im really excited that in select cities they decided to play 3 more shows! Chicago being one of those is such an honor. I will definitely be catching one more show as a fan and celebrate it along with everyone else. If you get the chance this is a must see!
